Travel Aches and Pains

On my last flight over seas, though still spent upon arrival (is there really any cure for jet-lag), it was the first time that I actually still felt, good. Most of the time, not only am I fatigued but it usually accompanies a massive tension headache, dry skin, dehydration, sore muscles. You get the picture and I'm sure you're conjuring up your own travel night mares right now. This time I did an awful lot of stretching before and during my flight, even at the airport. If my fellow passengers had any problem with my crow pose at the gate, they didn't show it. Also I brought along a tiny bottle (3 oz thank u very much) of olive oil that I spread through out the hours under my eyes and on specific spots on my face that seem to dry up mid flight. For the first time on an intercontinental flight I didn't drink wine or coffee. Just stuck to water. To my surprise, they actually gave me the vegetarian meal I requested too! I've always avoided all these "tips" because the stress of traveling is too much for me. But now that I know how well it worked out, it's my new regimen. Stay tuned for more.

Zen Me

In response to several recent inquiries about weather or not I suggest a yoga studio in the Athens area, here is my answer.

Yes I do suggest one,

ZEN ME
73 SKOUFA AVE
ATHENS (KOLONAKI)
+30 2103612724

When i'm not doing yoga at home, Zen Me is the studio of my choice. This yoga studio is great, the staff and the instructors are friendly and speak English, you will not have to worry about a communication barrier. ZenMe offers Yoga, Pilates, and massage therapy. It's in a hip neighborhood and close to the Metro. They provide a key and lockers for your belongings and mats. However I suggest you bring your own mat. I do, but then again i'm a hygiene freak about that sort of thing.
You can check them out for yourself at www.zenme.gr. I'm positive you will be very pleased, I would never recommend anything that I didn't engage in myself!
And if anyone has any specific quesitons you can continue to email me.

Mykonos

In August a couple of friends and I went to Mykonos. These are just a few of the more colorful tid bits that i loved. Also here is a video of the immediate view outside our hotel room. I can not for the life of me remember the name of our hotel. It kept confusing me the whole duration because it was a Spanish name. Go figure.

Have you have ever thumbed through a travel magazine or art book with picturesque white washed everything mykonos style, from streets to homes, and wondered if it really looks like that? It does. Even if you are not into partying (which makes me sad) there is still so much to do or my favorite, not do.

If I had a hooka

An old dervish den in the village where my dad is from. They talk about restoring it but every year it still looks like this.

Sigri Sunset

This is the door to and old castle. It can not be opened.

Sigri is a sleepy town on Lesvos. It's one of my favorite Places to go on the island.
