Mascara Monday: Last minute holiday deal

Anyone who is anyone has been man handled by MOthEr NaTUre this weekend. From the Mid Atlantic to us New Englanders...the snow has been the only subject on the table. Well I got a little cabin fever during the snowfall and went out to get some essentials that I did not need and came across a nifty treat.

Maybeline created a holiday three pack of their fab Stiletto, Colossal, and Define lash Mascaras for $14.99. Please don't mind the impromptu photo that I took with my camera phone - while holding a hot coffee. It was exciting and a great gift for yourself or your like-minded beauty junkie friend!

Holiday Gfit Ideas #2 Hairfreé™

Lets face it. Fashionistas and Beauty Junkies have a major time deficit in their day. All the primping of hair, perfect eyeliner application, and deciding what to wear, have us running for our second cUp oF joE before 9 a.m.!

My detour usually involves leaving one step out of my routine....the straightening iron. It takes too much time,  then I have the rest of the day sans that silky sheen and sharp edged tresses, not too mention the natural wave that I only like to appear on command. It's a no win situation.

There is a new time saver, though. It's a line of brushes from hairfreé™. While these ceramic brushes will not completely replace a straightening iron, they achieve many of the benefits in little time, with out damaging your hair. My best advise would be to alternate it every other day, in-between iron use. Available in flat and round brushes, they are also self cleaning. No need to worry about all the goop adding up.

How do these mysterious brushes work, you ask? They are coated with ceramic plates and an adjustable knob, that double up as vent brushes. As the air flows through, and the ceramic heats up, hair drys in no time with out damage. The result is silky hair and if you have a natural wave, hairfreé™ will scare those strands straight! I was pleasantly surprised how the brush heated up to a precise temperature and how it was simple to clean afterward. hairfreé™ is a keeper in my vanity. Click here for video for a detailed video showing how the brushes do their magic, and visit hairfreé™ to purchase.

I usually don't talk about prices 'round here, but since our economy is still in the toilet....I can't help but mention that hairfreé™ brushes are under $20 and make a great stocking stuffer!!!

Tis the season

I like to be festive around the holidays. With the exception of Christmas music, that begins on Nov 1 (I'm talking to you HINGHAM SHOPS). Lets keep the music in the cd case until the day after TG.

Anyhoo, what I really love is the slow transition from the fall into the holidays with little wreaths here and there and candles of cranberry and gingerbread scents. Sweet Grass Farms has raised the bar with their Farmhouse Holiday Greenery Collection. The all-natural bath, body, and home care line has a fragrance of spruce, pine, and cedarwood! It will bring back memories for sure, and get you in the mood that will carry you through December to the New Year!

The line consists of dish soap, room spray, hand lotion, liquid soap, soy candle, and fragrance sticks.

The liquid soap is already a hit around this house, and it can double as a shower gel too! It's made from a plant based cleanser with rich moisturizing abilities.

Speaking of showers and moisture, this time of year causes my hands to fall apart, especially in the shower. The combination of cold climate and hot water break my skin ala earthquake style. Well, lo and behold, Sweet Grass Farms has something to take care of that as well.
Their Super Duty Hand Care is a salve, blended with beeswax, olive and sunflower oils, lanolin, and essential oils.

The lemon/lavender scented salve is super long lasting with the power to nourish the most chapped skin.
