Once upon a time in 1932, in the Portuguese city of Porto, there lived a handsome prince. Actually there was no prince, there was Dr. Alberto Ferreira Couto. He was assisted by a dentist to create toothpaste in hopes of getting gInGIvitiS under control. The result was Couto toothpaste aka Pasta Dentifrica Couto.
It has a strong mint taste and really makes you feel like you have brushed your teeth without any harsh effects. I was not sure what to expect as far as taste was concerned, it turned out to be quite delightful!
The packaging is charming and is kind of backwards. But I guess there is no right or wrong way for print on a tube. It has that old apothecary feel. I love it! In Portugal they still love it as well and Couto has basically become synonymous with toothpaste (kind of like how here in the U.S., people call tissues Kleenex, even when it's another brand). You can brusha brusha your pearly white with Couto too or stuff a stocking...... because it's available at www.luckyscent.com
